Data Quality Checks: Parity, Duplicates and Latency Alerts

The Integrated Tech Stack module runs three data quality checks: row-count parity, duplicate fuzzy matching, and a latency alert. A red Data Quality Monitor Performance score proposes the Data Quality Monitor Standup playbook. The Integration Steward owns it and has 3 weeks to put all three checks live.

What a Red Data Quality Score Tells an Owner

The Integrated Tech Stack Diagnostic is one instrument inside the VWCG OS, and it scores 5 dimensions. Each dimension sits on a 0 to 5 scale against written anchors. The composite score is a weighted sum, with an equal weight of 0.20 per dimension. Data Quality Monitor Performance is the dimension that scores the three published checks.

Four other dimensions share the instrument: Architecture Pattern Fit, System Inventory Completeness, Change Control Governance, and Shadow IT Containment. Each carries the same weight, so no single dimension dominates the composite. Through a balanced scorecard lens, an owner can read the five as separate measures under one weighted composite. The module itself does not use the scorecard.

The low anchor for that dimension is blunt. There are no checks, and dashboards show numbers nobody trusts. The middle anchor describes some checks live, with thresholds or ownership unclear and duplicates found manually. At the top anchor, all three checks run automated with page thresholds.

The top anchor sets the standard. All three checks run automatically with page thresholds, and the Integration Steward acknowledges alerts. Downstream modules then consume trusted data: the KPI Precision Grid, the Client Success Loop, the Sales Velocity Engine, the AI Deployment Canvas, and People and Culture Analytics.

The Three Data Quality Checks in the Module

Three standing page metrics in the module carry the published thresholds. Row-Count Parity runs a daily check of the CRM against the warehouse. A divergence above 1% flags a sync failure. Duplicate Record Count comes from a nightly fuzzy-match bot that compares email and company name.

Data Latency Minutes pings the Integration Steward when sync exceeds 15 minutes. The weekly review in the KPI Precision Grid needs data no older than 24 hours. These three data quality checks are the measured signals that the top anchor of the dimension requires.

Consider a firm whose CRM and warehouse disagree by more than 1% on a given day. The parity check flags that divergence as a sync failure. In theory of constraints terms, a reader can treat the stale or broken feed as the bottleneck that limits every report built on it. The module itself does not use that framework.

How the Bands Route a Score

The composite bands cover the full 0 to 5 range with no gaps. Red runs from 0.0 up to but not including 2.0, and it proposes the owning remediation playbook. Amber covers 2.0 to 3.5 inclusive. Green runs above 3.5 up to and including 5.0.

An amber dimension routes to the Stack Hygiene and Amber Monitoring playbook, with 30-day pulse checks. That playbook reviews monitor trends weekly and investigates any two-week negative drift. A green dimension holds and receives quarterly monitoring through Core Execution.

A color changes only when a score clears the band edge by 0.25 points, or holds for two consecutive scorings. Leadership must confirm a route from a scored dimension before it runs, except a safety route, which acts on the first reading. Scorer agreement has not yet passed the reliability test, and the module says so openly.

Confirmation comes at the next monthly governance review or the Core Execution Phase 3 review, whichever comes first. The stated duration of a playbook starts at that confirmation.

Three routes fire from a red Data Quality Monitor Performance score. One proposes the Data Quality Monitor Standup. The KPI Precision Grid restricts its baseline to metrics whose source passed the parity check. In the AI Deployment Canvas, new deployments that read from sources failing the Data Quality Monitor stay blocked.

That AI Deployment Canvas playbook counts as a safety playbook, and safety playbooks never queue behind other work. It does not wait behind the cap of three red playbooks per owner. For an owner, a red data quality score can block new AI deployments that read from failing sources.

What the Data Quality Monitor Standup Does

The playbook works in a fixed order. When the Data Hygiene dimension of Intelligent Foundations scores red, it first centralizes customer and financial records into one governed source. It then instruments the three published checks. The Integration Steward owns this work for 3 weeks.

The playbook triages first-week findings and fixes them at the source system. Monitor output then flows to the KPI Precision Grid, so dashboard trust becomes visible on the KPI grid. In RACI terms, a reader would mark the Integration Steward as accountable, since the source names that role as owner. The module’s named templates include data-quality-monitor-config.yaml.

Consider a team that finds duplicate customer records in the first week. The playbook triages those findings and fixes them at the source system. A Six Sigma reader would recognize the same habit of correcting a defect where it starts, though the playbook does not cite Six Sigma.

Other Modules That Open the Standup

The Data Quality Monitor Standup also opens when a data-quality red routes in from another module. Each inbound route names its own trigger in plain terms. Five modules can send one.

Intelligent Foundations sends a red Data Hygiene score, which calls for data centralization before any AI project. When Baseline Snapshot Integrity scores red in the KPI Precision Grid and distrust traces to integration data quality, the route escalates to Data Quality Monitor findings. For a red Health Score Integrity score, the module runs a parity and duplicate check on the CRM, support and usage sources feeding health scores.

Pipeline Hygiene Enforcement in the Sales Velocity Engine works the same way, with a parity and duplicate check on CRM opportunity data. In Core Execution, a red Pre-Diagnostic Preparation score marks the data integrity check as overdue. If a trigger arrives while the Standup is already open, the playbook logs it against the open run. Owners who want context on where readiness fits can read about financial readiness alongside these routes.

How the Run Closes

The outcome has four parts. All three checks run live with page thresholds, the team has triaged findings, and the signal flows to the KPI Precision Grid. The alert acknowledgement log has started.

An outcome met, with an independent re-score at amber or better, closes the run. Someone other than the owner re-scores the dimension. A missed outcome at the end of the stated duration escalates to the manager of the owner and to the next Core Execution quarter planning agenda.

When a red playbook meets its outcome, any standing duty it set up continues under the standing playbook, Stack Hygiene and Amber Monitoring.

Each owner runs at most three red playbooks at once, and further reds queue. That queue ranks by how many modules the red dimension routes into. A PDCA reader would see a check and act step in that closing rule, but the method does not borrow PDCA. A reader who wants a broader view of staged progress can compare business maturity models.

Where the AI Readiness Assessment Fits

An owner may arrive here after using the free AI Readiness Assessment on vwcg.app. That tool covers six scored dimensions: AI Strategy, Data Readiness, Infrastructure, Talent and Skills, Governance, and Culture. It stands apart from the VWCG OS diagnostic, and its result does not open any playbook.

An owner who scored low on data readiness may simply want to read how the VWCG OS handles data quality checks. The guide to the AI readiness assessment explains that tool in more depth.

Frequently Asked Questions

What data quality checks does the Integrated Tech Stack module run?

The module runs three published checks. Row-Count Parity compares the CRM against the warehouse daily, and a divergence above 1% flags a sync failure. A nightly fuzzy-match bot counts duplicate records on email and company name. A latency alert pings the Integration Steward when sync exceeds 15 minutes.

What does the Data Quality Monitor Performance dimension measure?

The dimension measures whether all three checks run live: row-count parity at the 1% threshold, the nightly duplicate bot, and the 15-minute latency alert. It also tracks whether the Integration Steward acknowledges alerts. The diagnostic scores it on a 0 to 5 scale against written anchors, with a weight of 0.20.

When does the Data Quality Monitor Standup open?

The Standup opens when Data Quality Monitor Performance scores red. It also opens when a data-quality red routes in from Intelligent Foundations, the KPI Precision Grid, the Client Success Loop, the Sales Velocity Engine, or Core Execution. Leadership confirms the proposal at the next monthly governance review or the Core Execution Phase 3 review.

What happens first when data hygiene is red?

When the Data Hygiene dimension of Intelligent Foundations scores red, the playbook first centralizes customer and financial records into one governed source. Only then does it instrument the three published checks. The inbound route from Intelligent Foundations states the rule plainly: data centralization comes before any AI project.

What closes the Data Quality Monitor Standup?

The outcome requires all three checks live with page thresholds, findings triaged, the signal flowing to the KPI Precision Grid, and the alert acknowledgement log started. The Integration Steward owns it for 3 weeks. An outcome met, with an independent re-score at amber or better by someone other than the owner, closes the run.
